Can a Anaconda eat a human being?

Even the largest snakes in the world, the green anaconda and reticulated python (both can reach lengths of 10 metres, but the anaconda is much heavier at up to 550lb), cannot swallow a normally-sized adult human. The width of our shoulders makes it impossible. The size of prey taken by these snakes has been greatly exaggerated by the media, particularly ludicrous films like 'Anaconda' - don't even get me started on the number of factual errors in that piece of garbage.
However, such large snakes as these are capable of swallowing children or very small adults. There is no record of anacondas doing this - they are placid snakes that are not known to attack people. Reticulated pythons are a different matter, being much more aggressive - there are documented cases of them eating children.
Both these snakes are immensely strong and could easily kill a human being, but constrictors do not attempt to constrict something unless they are going to eat it. Therefore, they would not bother to constrict an adult human, knowing it was too large for them to swallow. If they felt threatened, they would simply bite in self-defence, not attempt to constrict.
Smuk and O.C. - anacondas most certainly cannot eat hippos or buffalo. Neither of these animals are found in South America, where anacondas live, and even if a human brought them together in captivity there is no possible way the anaconda could swallow such huge animals.
