Is my aquarium with sufficient light?
I was told that 3 watts per gallon is good enough lightning for my aquarium. If i use one 13 watt Fluorescent light bulb which produces the same light as a 60 watt normal bulb going to work. I tried the 60 watt bulb and it's the same amount of light as the fluorescent. My aquarium has plants so thats why i need 3 watts per gallon.
depends what plants...
if java ferns and amazon swords just use the 13 watt fluorescent.
you just can't add more light, light, fertilizers and co2 injection all have to be balanced. Add alot of one without the others and you will be in big trouble algae wise.
so don;t jump to large amounts of light.
low light doesn't mean weak growth just slow growth.
a GE "daylight" fluorescent bulb will do be it 13 or 26 watts.
research growing plants a bit more before making a decision.
