help to make a big aquarium?
I was seriously thinking about making this aquarium and want to know if it is possible.
Can i take a pool and fill it will tap Water put sand on the bottom and make it a planted tank. I would make it so that there was more filters in the pool to spread oxygen if needed. would the natural sunlight be enough for the plants.
i would get a very good pool liner. also the pool is only 5 foot deep and never in the shade.
If you are talking about using a swimming pool liner as long as it holds water it can make a pond. If it's outside plants will grow. You may need to place them on blocks if the pool is too deep.
One disadvantage I can foresee is that pool liners suffer from UV damage and do not last as long as a dedicated pond liner, which should have a 20 year guarantee.
Edit with additional,- 5 feet would be too deep for many plants so you would need some method to raise them. This is not too hard to do as they can be in pots.
