Hangon Bio Filter
what would an (economical)but good quality filter system for a 110 gal freshwater tank?

tank is housing 2 X 1" jack dempsy,2 x 8" red bellied pacu,1 6" parrot fish,,,and im considering adding 1 6" bristle nosed pleco fish,,thanks in advance,,oh yea currently using 1 hangon penguin filter rated for 75 gal and another penguin filter with bio wheel rated for 50 gal,,,i just want one filter,,,and not real sure what would be best, hang on,canister, refuge?

The best most effective (and inexpensive in the long run) is a "wet/dry sump".
All you need is an "overflow" of some type,a tank to serve as the sump, and a pump to function as the return system.Properly sorted out it is "bullet-proof".Choices of media are practically unlimited.
There are all types of DIY for sump design on the web .... just punch it in as "DIY sump filtration" and you'll be busy for days sorting info.
