Pond Hydrometer
How do you translate ppt readings on a hydrometer into % of salt in the pond?

We need a 2% salinity in the pond and have been using salt level test strips. We are interested in a hydrometer, but the readings are in ppt form. Help please?
Thanks success! That's just the info we're looking for.

And yes, the hydrometer measures gravity but ours measures salinity also.
We're treating a koi pond - and we've been doing this at 2% for alot of years. Only we've used test strips before.

Really- in Parts Per Thousand? All the ones that I have owned read it in Specific Gravity- but you may be looking at something fancier than what I am accustomed to.

If in ppt, then you'll want levels around 20 ppt to be at 2%.

20/1000=2/100
2/100=.02
.02=2%
