believe me. he upfront cost of the python is nowhere near what you MUST spend to properly raise and house these gorgeous animals. pet store employees push 2' neonates to teenagers who want a "cool" pet. this is truly terrible. know that Burmese pythons can reach over 20 ft long, require GIGANTIC enclosures to meet their needs. and no to mention the prey. i believe that one snake over 19 ft downs small pigs every few months. as a rule for safety ALL snake keepers should follow- for every 3 ft over 9 ft another person should be present to assist in handling larger boids. also, they prove dangerous for the inexperienced-one or two people fie a year because of improper handling of these animals. also if you think you ll just buy em small and sell it when it gets too big-your stuck there my friend- many zoos, rescue centers and pet stores either wont accept large pythons, or are choked with too many. for a small one price can vary extremely- from 50- 300. larger constrictors may run from 500- 1000 dollars. these are truly impressive animals, but should ONLY be kept by those experienced and prepared enough to care for them properly.
