Canister filter location/position?
I am planing on getting a canister, but my tank is on a desk so i have no way of postioning it and i don't plan on getting a tank cabinet, any suggestions on how i can do this?
Does a canister have to be under tank level? Most instruction state that it should be under tanks? what would happen if it was at tank levels? What would happen if it was over tank level?
Any help would be helpful, Thanks

It's best if it is under the tank (can you put it on the floor next to or under the desk?) but you can cheat and put it at the same level by first completely filling the canister with Water and then plugging it in - it should start right up. But try to put it below if you can. Don't worry, it won't explode or anything if it's level with the tank.
I've been very happy with my Rena and I don't think you can go wrong with it. You can't go wrong with Eheim either, and while my Fluval isn't bad, it's cheaply made compared to the others. But careful overdoing the size - the XP4 is for a 200 gallon tank, which I hope you are not putting on a desk!
