What woluld happen if one would release wild tropical animals in a greenhouse filled with tropical plants ?
Would the animals fell comfortable when visitors (as for a Zoo) will look at them, better than animals imprisoned in cages or small dens? Have anyone of you seen jaguars, panthers or other as mentioned in such a enclosure on temperate or cold climates? I only sow separate greenhouses in Botanical Gardens and wild parks as Zoo gardens.
In some televised parks I have seen brown bears living among elks and deers or other herbivores, (not being eaten by bears just because they said to be lazy), Would be possible to populate a green house of 2.50 acres (aprox. 1 hectare) with say 2 or 3 jaguars or tiger as their own Habitat and among this to populate with hummingbirds and butterflies and some reptiles (not snakes)?
And of course this greenhouse to have a visitor's tunnel closed with thick wire fence for peoples protection. What do you say?
Methinks you've romanticized the notion of a 'natural zoo', and you greatly underestimate what it would take to manage an indoor habitat of that complexity, especially if you plan to selectively omit species that are naturally present in such an ecosystem. (Your thought of 2.5 acres for 3 or 4 big cats is --extremely-- low, too...)
