Do you have a monitor lizard? What is it like to own one of these amazing creatures?
What species do you have?
How is your monitor's temperament?
How much money did it cost you to buy the animal and its cage, along with all other necessities for it to have a happy life?
After that, what is the general cost for the daily maintenance that your pet requires?
I imagine the electric bill must be high.
Do you have a bond with it?
Are reptiles, such as monitor lizards, even capable of having some sort of bond with a human being?

i have a bosc (or savannah) monitor
he is really friendly and has never bitten anyone! although his did whip out when he was younger, and hisses when people move really quickly around him, but handling him slowly, he quite happily just crawls areound the place exploring 
i used an old tv cabinet for his cage, but that maybe cost about £150 when i first got it. then for the heat mat, lamp, hides, Water bowls & rocks etc it was about £30, then Max himself was just under £40. his food every week costs about £5
its costs less than £1 a day to feed him, and then you need to water him too, but that doesnt cost much - neither does the electricty bill - it maybe only adds another 10p or something to the monthly bills
i'd like to think so i got him when he was 8inches long in june, its now january and he is 16 inches long, and i handled him (besides his 2 week settling in period at the beginning) everying single day. he started out really fearful and aggressive, but now if i open his tank doors he wanders out on his own accord, and he appears to like being petted on his head and neck, and will just slowly mosey around all over me
nobody in the house likes him, so i'm the only one he could bond with!
i think they are - not so much love, like say a dog or something, and given the chance i reckon he would run away and never come back (probably becuase he'd die of cold or get lost...) but they certainly recognise specific people, as it learns to associate them with things it likes - the biggie being food
