What are the quarantine laws in the UK for reptiles (snakes)? > from hong kong to the UK?
any reptile that is brought into the country needs to go through customs, they will check the snake to see if it is healthy after its journey, also you may need paper work to prove it is not wild caught, this is usually covered by the cites certificate, i think your best bet is to get in touch with customs and they will tell you the legal requirements for bringing a snake into the country, it may have to stay in quarantine for a while, but to be quite honest i have never brought reptiles over her, you may be able to get a pet passport , the number for customs in Britain is; from UK 08704215641 the international number is 00441304207333, if you need to get in contact with the licensing for cites then the number is 01173728774 or you can email them at www.licensing@animalhealth.gsi.gov.uk one of these will be able to give you the information you require, but i do know if you do not do it by the book the snake will be seized as soon as it comes into the country and you will receive a fine, we do have strict quarantine laws here, hope this helps best of luck
