snakes prey
How does an insectivore snake (rough green snake) detect its prey? Does it still have thermal sensors or not?
Since insects don't put off heat, how does it work? Is it part of the thirty percent of snakes that have good eye sight? Please list where I can verify this information. Thank you.
Not all snakes that eat warm-blooded animals have thermoreceptors. A Lot of a snake's hunting is done using the tongue and jacobson's organ, which is what the rough green snake uses, along with vision.
