Why doesn't my submersible heater work?
I have the Marineland Stealth 50w submerisble heater. I put it in and I plug it in a power outlet with a drip loop. It doesn't seem to work! Wow! Can somebody please help me out because I can't let me turtle keep swimming in a 61 degrees Water! Help!
I had soooo much trouble with my heater (and it's not nearly as good as yours) until I found this out...
You must put the heater in the water and let it just sit without plugging it in. Then after about 15 minutes, plug it back in. Something to do with the thermostat has to adjust to the current water temp or something like that. That did the trick for me. If this doesn't work for you, I hope you can return in cause I know Stealth's can be expensive.
