Floor Heating for snake?
I have a 72x24x36 reptile cage it is all glass even on top but the floor is some very thick wood. I built a frame out of 2x2 wood and screwed a 120 watt heat panel into it. The heat panel works great and keeps the entire enclosure warm with a basking spot of 87 degree but I will like to get something else to get the basking spot up to like 95 degree. Like a heat mat or something that I can use on the inside and bury under the bedding because if I use a under tank heater it won't work because the bottom is wood. So if you can help me I will greatly appreciate it.
I use Flexwatt heat tape to heat all of my cages. You can put it inside and silicone a thin piece of plexiglass over it or put some of those thin sticky tiles over it to keep it dry, and make sure to use a thermostat. I get my heat tape from http://www.beanfarm.com
